In Women’s Studies, Gender Studies and LGBTQ
Research, Scholarship, Teaching, and Activism

This year we are delighted to offer an additional thread
throughout the conference sponsored by the
UW System Institute on Race and Ethnicity (IRE)

Intersections of Race, Ethnicity, Gender, and Sexuality.

Plan to join us and participate in sessions addressing Women’s and Gender Studies and LGBTQ Research, Scholarship, Program Development, Pedagogy, Teaching, and Activism. As usual, there will be a general focus on intersecting diversity issues and identities. Presentations will be offered on educational and organizational practices/processes emerging as effective strategies and models for success, as well as best practices and case studies suitable for replication, particularly as they relate to collaborative and cooperative strategies for Women’s and Gender Studies and LGBTQ educational advancement

Highlights will include:

The 2009 Outstanding Women of Color in Education Awards

Exhibit Space and Book Signing
Bookstalls, exhibits, and other information of interest to conference participants will be on display throughout the conference. If you
would like to book exhibit space or arrange a book signing in conjunction with this conference, please request an exhibitor’s registration
form from hklebesadel@uwsa.edu

Lodging Information
Blocks of rooms for this conference have been reserved at the Lowell Center Guest Rooms (608/256-2621) and The Campus Inn
(800/589-6285). Identify yourself as a part of the “UW Women’s Studies Conference” and make reservations by March 1, 2009

Lunches and Receptions
The conference fee includes luncheons Friday and Saturday, and evening receptions Friday and Saturday, and Saturday supper.

Cancellation Policy
If you must cancel your registration, please do so at least three working days prior to the date of the program. You will be charged an
administrative fee of $20. If you are a confirmed registrant and cancel less than three working days prior to the date of the program,
you are responsible for the entire fee.
